What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors 

OHM Advisors is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect who is a pivotal leader that bridges high-level design vision with technical execution across the firm’s diverse projects. Their core contribution involves leading complex, multidisciplinary projects—such as parks, public spaces, streetscapes, and green infrastructure initiatives—from initial concept through final construction. Beyond design, they act as key leaders by mentoring junior staff, cultivating strong client relationships, and actively participating in business development and project procurement to secure new work.

Your Responsibilities 

Project Management:

  • Provide project landscape architectural leadership through all phases, including design and technical construction documentation. Familiarity with and ability to oversee the development of phase deliverables, including concept design, technical studies and reports, and construction drawings and specification development, including drawings, specifications, and opinions of probable cost is required.

  • Maintain expertise in local, state, and federal regulations for project development while staying abreast of industry best practices.

  • Lead the development of proposals, work plans, schedules, and budgets for projects.

  • Expertise in preparing discipline specific, as well as multidisciplinary project proposals at multiple scales desired.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other OHM disciplines throughout the project to deliver an integrated design and engineering process.

  • Coordinate with subconsultants to establish contracts and manage communication and deliverable development.

  • Effectively communicate goals, alternatives, recommendations, and designs related to landscape architecture to the project team, client, and the public.

  • Manage and deliver both discipline specific and multi-disciplinary projects at a variety of scales, monitoring financial performance, project quality and team workload.

  • Perform quality assurance and quality control of project deliverables.

  • Work closely with Discipline and Geographic leaders, Clients, and project teams to deliver projects and problem-solve as issues arise.

  • Personnel Mentorship:

  • Provide guidance to landscape architecture staff, fostering professional growth and quality work.

  • Provide landscape architecture leadership through all project phases, including design and technical construction documentation.

  • Work with discipline leadership to staff projects and monitor utilization levels.

  • Collaborate with Principals and geographic leadership to manage, mentor, and guide team members to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

  • Collaborate with other discipline leaders to continue developing studio best practices and advance landscape architectural practice.

Requirements 

  • Education, Experience, & Licensure:

  • Bachelors degree or better in Landscape Architecture.

  • Minimum of 10 years & experience in Landscape Architecture.

  • Professional licensure in landscape architecture required

  • Experience practicing landscape architecture in Tennessee and participation in professional organizations.

  • Experience working within financial management software to monitor project performance metrics.

  • Expert in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Suite. Familiarity with Lumion is a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret ordinances, statutes, plans, maps, blueprints, contracts.

  • Ability to oversee the production of deliverables at all phases of design.

Job Summary

Serves as a Senior Landscape Architect providing site planning assistance to TVA Economic Development prospects and communities for the purpose of helping them understand the capability/suitability of a particular industrial site or building.

Interfaces closely with community and state officials, industrial prospects, economic development regional specialists, and target market specialists to produce visually appealing deliverables in a time-sensitive environment.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing site analysis (soils, slopes, vegetation, drainage, streams, views, etc.) and zoning reviews (setbacks, buffers, planting requirements, open space, parking, etc.)

  • Performing grading estimates and balancing earthwork quantities for the development of an industrial site

  • Planning development of a site for competing uses

  • Creating master plans for industrial parks as well as single-user concept plans for individual parcels

  • Producing plans using the latest computer applications that assist communities in differentiating their sites from their competitors

  • Performing reviews of existing infrastructure for depiction on planning documents

  • Working in a team environment to share responsibility and collaborate to achieve the best overall result

 

Other useful skills include GIS proficiency and ability to render buildings in 2D and 3D based on site concept plans.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture is required. Master’s degree in landscape architecture, planning, or relevant field is desirable. 

·         Four or more years of experience in landscape architecture applied to site planning is required.

·         Professional registration is desirable.

Quality Landscape and Garden Center is a 40 year old legacy business located in Olive Branch, Mississippi serving the metropolitan Memphis, Tennessee area.  We offer design-build services to both residential and commercial customers.  

Position

The Landscape Designer / Architect will support the staff landscape architect with field measurements and preparing hardscape and landscape plans. The position will also support sales team with quantifying plans and providing other essential information necessary for the preparation of proposals and estimates.  The position also supports field operations with project management tasks as needed.  The position may also perform other tasks or assignments as assigned.

Experience

Required: 0 to 5 years. Ability to communicate (oral and written), Hand graphics skills, Microsoft Office, ability to draft in CAD based software, ability to read and interpret construction plans, ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment

Preferred: Land F/X software, 2D and 3D graphics programs, knowledge of plants common to local area, sales experience, design-build experience

Department: Landscaping

Employment Status: Full-Time – 12 Months

Compensation
